The other day, Pixel offered to update, saying it's the June feature drop. I agreed to my own detriment.
And in settings, search in Developer options stopped working. Moreover, even the Developer options item itself isn't searchable. And the funniest thing is that on the Developer options page itself there's a magnifying glass for search, which also doesn't search Developer options, but searches through some external settings.
Just in case, I thought of disabling developer mode and enabling it back. When disabling developer mode, the launcher crashed. I'm betting it's because of some developer tiles in the notification shade that couldn't migrate. Reliability.
Although what am I talking about such minor things. I noticed this with Developer options because I have a frequent pattern. It turns out almost no settings item is searchable, watch the attached video. Airplane mode in the Network section or Developer options in the System section are somewhere deep. But by what principle were Battery and Storage not found, but Wallpaper & style located at the same top level was found?
Google gives no answers, as if nobody needs settings, or I'm just lucky. I rebooted the system, even cleared the cache and storage of the settings app, all to no avail.
You know what helped? Switching the system language to Russian and back to English so it would reindex.
