Spoke at Podlodka yesterday morning. Turned out pretty well, I think. By my own feelings, I was quite confident.
If I compare it to the offline talk at DevFest, presenting in front of a screen is significantly easier. First, you don't see and hear those few dozen people, so the presentation itself differs little from a test run. On the other hand, out of a hundred people in the audience there, there were at best a few mobile developers, and those came for free. But here people paid money, and everyone's cool. You feel the responsibility.
Second, the slides are always in front of you, not behind you. Because of this, you don't get confused as often. However, this is also a disadvantage because it makes the presentation such a fairly complete plan of the talk. And when you read something aloud and when you add something from your head, the pace is different, it's very difficult to somehow equalize it. That is, in your head it seems to happen at the same pace, but from the outside it's not at all like that.
Psychologically I was prepared for the talk to be received so-so because it's too general and soft-skills oriented. The hope was precisely that it would be easy for everyone to apply all this to themselves. The ratings in the end are quite positive, I'm satisfied. 👌
