A couple years ago, when I was preparing for all sorts of interviews, I liked to watch public interviews from YouTube. Now I can't stand them.
I always catch such cringe for the "candidate" that it's physically painful for me to continue watching. Mocks constantly look like some drawn-out prank.
Maybe I've grown way past this level. It's hard to surprise me now or I'm unlikely to learn something new from a mock Android interview specifically in terms of technical questions. That's why watching for an hour and a half as someone struggles to formulate answers to questions I already know is just uncomfortable.
Of course, I clearly understand how difficult it is to be tested, and in general to record publicly. Big respect for the courage to all participants, but the only thing this helps with now is boosting self-esteem, yeah. Like if these cool guys perform like this, then I can definitely do the same. Helps overcome some barrier if you're scared.
But going to a real interview, if they invite you, is ten times more useful. And reading somewhere in text "top 100 interview questions" is a hundred times more useful. And mock interviews are purely a show for enthusiasts.
