Android Studio updates - endless potential for new posts. Although, to be fair, this time it's more about IDEA. We'll see over time what else they broke there, the confidence that they broke something - as always is present. So far the only tangible discomfort I experienced was that JetBrains in IDEA 2022.3 removed settings synchronization with git repository from the box, and with the stable giraffe it's time for us to suffer in Studio.
Previously, after installing a new version you could go to File - Sync with Settings Repository, throw in the repo URL on GitHub and enjoy your familiar settings. Now you can't do this, you can only specify from a file, but this is a one-time thing, it doesn't backup your settings itself anywhere.
But in fact it's still possible, only it's become much more complicated, now it's a plugin. So you have to go install the plugin, restart and only after that you can sync with your settings. Who was bothered by it is unclear, in my opinion one of the coolest features that no one knew about.
The plugin's rating is for some reason 1.9 out of 5. Maybe I'm just lucky that it works for me.
