And Everyone Shares How They Want

The sharing dialog is so bad that all "big" players build something of their own as a second layer. That is, they have their own sharing dialog, from which (sometimes) you can open the system one. IIRC they're even worse.

From those that caught my eye - Twitter, Reddit, Spotify, YouTube, Chrome. Yes yes, Google first of all doesn't want to use what their neighboring department wrote.

For example, let's try to share a post from Reddit. We see a button that opens the default dialog. We see a button that copies the link. A button that saves the link. What? Where? To some bookmarks. How is this related to sharing at all? The cherry on top of bugs is that when reopening this sharing dialog it forgets that the post is already added to favorites.

My favorite moment is that they also swap places. There's some counter that increments on each click and the bigger it is, the more to the left the button. To make it more interesting for the user, to require more cognitive load to remember this. Video attached, you can appreciate.

This also had to be coded, someone created a ticket for this. Exactly the same behavior by the way in Twitter, I have a suspicion that the same person brought it there.

Then some messengers, messages and Twitter. By what principle they showed up there I'm also not very sure. Most likely Meta and Twitter just paid.
