Everyone considers it their duty to show me their custom screen for entering a pin code instead of just letting me inside. Banking apps, mobile operators, some government services, forgot someone else, surely.
And here two questions arise. First - why? I already entered my pin code, put my finger, was recognized by face, drew a graphic key to unlock the phone. Why do I need to go through this again when launching the app? It's me. I already proved this to my phone. If it's for some security, do you really think people will set different pin codes and remember all this, if there are at least several such apps on the phone? This is just additional inconvenience.
The second question - if this feature is so popular, why don't we have a recommended verification method from Google yet? There's androidx.biometric to recognize the same fingerprints with their own bottom sheet, but there's no pin codes. There are no such components in Material Design. Everyone slaps together as they can and layout the screen from leftover development of needed features. And then I have to look at and interact with this screen more often and more than with any other app screen, because it's always in view like a fence.
