Stop The Clocks

Enter Shikari Logo

Sixth Enter Shikari concert.

I still can't get enough.

Enter Shikari are going on such a big Russia tour for the first time, as soon as this became known at the end of last year, my head started going through options, but considering that there was no company at all for inadequate decisions - the most obvious and most correct decision was chosen. The decision to go on the already known path to the biggest club in this country - Moscow's Stadium, where I've been five times in the last year.

A year has passed since the phenomenal The Prodigy solo show, which took place there with a two-day sold-out. It's a sin not to shed a tear immersing yourself in memories, given recent events. It's very likely that, for example, Enter Shikari wouldn't have existed in principle if The Prodigy hadn't made electronic music so popular in their time. In memory of Keith. Such events make you reconsider your attitude to life and to favorite artists in particular.

Map of movements

The theme of Shikari's signature triangles is traced in everything. If you connect on a map the points where I was lucky to be at their concerts, you get quite a triangle.

Map

03.08.12 - Kubana 2012

05.08.13 - Kubana 2013

29.05.15 - Ray Just Arena - Moscow

19.05.17 - Adrenaline Stadium - Moscow

02.06.18 - Rock Im Park 2018

07.03.19 - Adrenaline Stadium - Moscow

Two concerts at Kubanas, three solo shows in Moscow, one concert at Rock Im Park. The only band with such a number of concerts for me, considering that all this are trips.

Warm-up. Ocean Jet

Ocean Jet can be described as a band very well known in especially narrow circles. That they would be warming up for the Brits became known literally a couple of hours before and this became a very pleasant addition to the main event of the day.

Enter Shikari

I'll build my chaotic story in chronological order according to the most memorable moments. Yes, almost through the entire setlist, not hiding it.

The Sights

  • I won't go into such meat as you

  • Yes, and I think from the very beginning not to jump in, save my strength

* First chords of The Sights *

* Runs in a circle *

Labyrinth

When they start playing tracks from Take To The Skies - it's always a special moment. Enter Shikari are one of those rare bands who, even considering constantly changing style, remain true to their roots and you can see how the guys themselves enjoy playing old tracks. The legendary nature of this performance is added by the fact that with each year the relevance of Rou's lyrics grows more and more. Unfortunately.

We'll break the walls down

Arguing With Thermometers

And here the total disco started. Listening to this set, you don't stop marveling at how such cacophony can be so diverse and rocking. The first track where absolutely everything was moving.

We'll take you down

Lyrical! :)

Rabble Rouser

Those who've heard Rabble Rouser only in the album version can't even imagine how hypnotic this thing is. The bass line is absolutely wild, reaches right to the heart.

So so so so unique

Shinrin-yoku & The Revolt Of The Atoms

Maestro Rou appeared in the image of a lonely trumpeter under a light similar to a street lamp light. Insanely beautiful and calm atmosphere of the beginning of Shinrin-yoku ended with the expected disco at the end and a smooth transition into The Revolt Of The Atoms, where the dance floor turned into Satan's ball.

The Spark, despite its non-heavy sound, is simply wonderful to listen to live, and moreover makes you move in an extremely clear way. This kind of thing hasn't happened at concerts so often lately that you can't marvel at this once again.

DESTABILISE THIS PLACE

How three words can drive 5 thousand people crazy. And I'm one of them. Reviewing the concert recording, you find yourself making several turns around your axis, in a state of affect. The entire set is absolutely wonderful, but this moment evokes special feelings.

On the video recording it's clearly visible how not far from me Rou went on his usual journey to the audience, walking along the left side from the stage to the bar, climbed on the bar and performed the second part of the track from there. You think - what a lucky guy, he was so close. Yeah, I only learned about this sitting at home two days later watching that same video. I didn't even look at the stage once, let alone the bar.

The party was in my head, this is the favorite feeling from concerts - when you absolutely close yourself off and don't pay attention to what's happening around. Flashbacks to Kubana 2013, where this same feeling led to boundless love for Enter Shikari.

Rou Rou five meters from me on the bar with a lampshade on his head

Gandhi Mate, Gandhi & Mothership

YABADABADU

Gandhi is already an excellent track, but such a peculiar mashup with Mothership - it's just space. One of the main highlights of the evening - when in the middle in the bridge after the first verse of Gandhi the starting sample of Mothership turns on. And goodbye head. Mothership is a fucking masterpiece for all times.

Airfield

Thousands of people sitting on the floor in tears. A song for all those who don't get everything, but that's no reason to stop.

When the wind's against you

Remember this insight

That's the optimal condition

For birds to take flight

Now the wind's against you

Don't give up the fight

Such simple but such powerful lyrics. A rescue song in a difficult moment. Thank you, Enter Shikari.

Quickfire Round

"For those who don't know, Quickfire Round is when we play 4 songs in 8 minutes"

Is this even legal? No.

If Shikari announced a concert where there would only be Quickfire - I would still go to it. For the first time I managed to feel this thing on myself as part of the set at RIP 2018, then instead of The Last Garrison and Anaesthetist in the mix were Sssnakepit and Jester. No matter how you change the components - you still get a masterful mashup.

Thank you. Good night.

Not so fast, Rou, encore.

Juggernauts

This is JUGGERNAAAAUT. The electricity failed twice.

Chris - "I think we should start over". Thank you, Chris.

Crushing all in its path

The second time the sound cuts out and the crowd of people in one voice of their own accord starts performing the title song of all Enter Shikari.

And still, we will be here, standing like statues

Next time - says Rob from behind his drums. We'll be waiting, standing like statues, we say :)

This was a very sweet and beautiful moment.

Live Outside

I'd sell my soul to learn to dance like Rou on Live Outside. All the last strength went into dancing. Lord, this was a delightful concert. Light, sound, set, arrangements, audience - everything top-tier.

Video for memory

Stop The Clocks

The name of the tour and its title song - describes everything as perfectly as possible.

Stop the clocks

Stop the clocks, I'm killing time

I don't ever want this to end,

And you say that makes two of us

I want to be at an Enter Shikari concert forever, so time would stop and it would never end. Well, all we can do is plan the next trips, to other Enter Shikari concerts including, of course.

I mentioned everyone except Rory. Time to mention him too - I don't fucking believe this.
